My Hentai Comics: review by Fetish Dude

Hentai has fast become one of the biggest niches around for people who love anime. While the niche was relatively small around 10 years ago – especially in Western countries – it has exploded in recent years and there's little doubt anymore that the weeb community is a force to be reckoned with. Today, I plan to explore a site that seeks to appeal to them. It's called MyHentaiComics and I'm looking forward to seeing what the deal is. Will it fall short of my expectations, or match up to my demands? Read on: Fetish Dude is about to take MyHentaiComics for a test drive.

Initial thoughts on MyHentaiComics

I'd say that the design here on the homepage is a little dated in all honesty. While it's quite functional, I don't think that the aesthetic is exactly what I'd describe as modern. Personally, I like to see websites that keep up with the times and give people that luxury feel – it's especially important when all of the competition is offering that! MyHentaiComics likely has been around for several years and while that's great, you always want to see adaptation in the rapidly shifting and evolving world of hentai. Web design and layout is just one aspect of that! Again, I do want to stress that this place serves its function at least somewhat, but there are still some issues that I can see just from spending 10 seconds on the homepage.

Right in the middle of the load area, you'll see a number of preview panes devoted to various galleries that you can check out. MyHentaiComics keeps thins relatively minimal here, with just a cover thumbnail and title – that's it. I think I also want to mention that while there is classic hentai here (that is, content in the style of anime), lots of Western galleries are also displayed. I don't have a massive issue with this, but I thought I'd mention it anyway, because some folks like to have a mixture of both, whereas others are pretty committed to just one type of media approach. All I can do is report the facts and let you do the rest!

A closer look at MyHentaiComics content

There are currently 15,000+ comics here, with new ones added on a daily basis. You cannot fault the size of the archive here, which is clearly something they've done a great job expanding upon. One thing I will say is that this is on the average side of archive sizes though: there are plenty of hentai hubs with far more material. Still, I'm not convinced you'll get through even 1% of what they have to offer, so it's hardly the end of the world if they haven't documented and released millions of doujinshi, right? I do also want to stress that these are galleries and comics – long-form hentai with plots that you can print off and put into a readable book. This differs somewhat from other hentai hubs that are rule 34 based, where you just get a single image or piece of artwork from a producer.

A look at the MyHentaiComics categories

The header link as an 'all categories' link, which is probably a good spot for you to go if you know exactly what it is that you're looking for. Having said that, they don't really have too many themes here, and it's far fewer than I'm typically used to seeing on a site like this. Of those that are offered, the most likely interests you'll find include Asian, femdom, futanari, gloryhole, incest, pregnancy, tentacles and lesbian. You also have a '3D' category here if you prefer the rendering aesthetic of animated pornography. There are 500+ releases in this section, so you've got more than enough if you just want to take a glace for the sake of curiosity.

My final word on MyHentaiComics

My Hentai Comics has a lot of things going for it, and while I do think that the design isn't great, I cannot fault the project in terms of its functionality and ability to deliver on what it set out to give everyone. Fetish Dude is more than satisfied with the overall experience and as a result, this hub gets my full seal of approval. The bottom line here is that you get something that's enjoyable, easy to access and exactly what you wanted in the first place: a collection of comics and doujinshi galleries. Is it the best website I've ever visited? Of course not. But it sure as hell isn't at the bottom of my list either.
